It is time for the annual election process to fill the slate of officers on your Executive Board. The election will be held during the OEMA membership meeting in Eugene, OR, on October 7, 2019.
For 2019, the following positions are up for election:
President: The President’s role is critical to the association and the board. The President is an elected position and serves a two-year term with the responsibility of contributing to the direction of OEMA and the fulfillment of its goals. The general responsibility of the President is to oversee all OEMA events and projects and to contribute to the direction of the OEMA association. The President will serve as Past President after the two-year term as President.
Treasurer: In addition to being a critical role for the association and the board, the Treasurer's role can be difficult because of its technical nature. The Treasurer must keep neat and accurate records and pay attention to detail. The Treasurer should be available to handle transactions on a timely basis and be prepared to present current financial status to the executive board on demand.
Member at Large – East Side: The Member at Large role is a critical role for the association and the board. This position represents the Association members in the geographic area he/she represents and acts as a liaison between the Association and the members. The Member at Large is an elected position and serves a two-year term with the responsibility of contributing to the direction of OEMA and the fulfillment of its goals.
In addition, due to the current Secretary stepping down as of November 1, 2019 we will also hold a special election for that position.
I encourage you to submit nominations for the identified positions to email@example.com.Nominations must be received no later than August 07, 2019.
The timeline is established to give us enough time to confirm that the nomination has approval from their supervisor and then send the election ballot to you for voting.
The election ballot, including all nominations, will be sent 08/21/19. All voting will be performed electronically. Note that due to the by-laws requirement for candidates to have written support from their supervisor, nominations cannot be taken from the floor at the meeting.
